How Does a Maintenance Plan Work?

Share some details about your website to get a recommendation. If it meets your budget, consider subscribing to a yearly plan to get 2 months off.

2. We Get to Work

We'll provide secure means for you to send your login credentials. Then we'll get to work migrating your site to our hosting and fully set up our maintenance routine within 1 week.

3. Get Monthly Reports

You can relax now and we'll send monthly reports on all the work done to your site. You'll see numbers and results you might not have seen before

Maintenance Plan FAQ

What do you need in order to set up support on my site?

We'll need login credentials for the following:

1. WordPress administrator account
We'll need this to get to work setting up backups, improving security, optimizing performance, and so on.

2. Hosting provider account
Should you choose to use our fully-managed, high-performance hosting, we'll need access to your current hosting account to perform site migration and help you end your subscription there.

3. Domain management account
We'll need this to update your DNS records for site migration. As this is a highly sensitive information, we can also provide instruction for you to perform DNS record updates yourself.

After you've selected and purchased a maintenance plan, we'll present instructions to securely send us your login credentials. We'll keep it safe and never share with anyone not related to performing maintenance and development work on your site.

Once we receive the login information, we'll have your plan fully implemented in 24-72 hours. However, performance optimization can take up to a week since we have to understand the internal workings of your website and your site's traffic pattern.

What are the best ways to contact you for support?

We provide two ways to get in touch:

How does your technical support work?

We use support tickets to make sure that all communication is documented, which makes it easier for our team to know what’s going on with your site. Support tickets can be submitted through your WordPress or WebMaiD account dashboard.

Do you offer web hosting?

Yes. All our maintenance plans include fully-managed, high-performance hosting. This enables you to have a single point of contact for all your website needs.

However, if you prefer to use your current hosting, that's fine too. We have experience with various hosting companies. We might recommend that you migrate out of a hosting company when we think it is sub par for what you need to achieve through your website.

Is email included with your web hosting?

No. Our maintenance plans only ensures that messages and notifications sent from your website arrives on your email inbox in a timely manner.

We recommend getting your email from reputable service providers like GSuite, or register your domain on Gandi.net or Hover.com, which offers email bundled. Try to stay away from any hosting provider that offers "unlimited emails".

Can you help me set up an SSL certificate?

Yes. We'll set up a free Let's Encrypt SSL certificate for you and auto-renew it for you. We'll also migrate your site for free from HTTP to HTTPS so you won't see browser warnings saying your site is not secure.

Will my website be hack-proof?

Website security is a very complex subject. Any real security expert will tell you that there is no such thing as 100% secure. We do our very best from the server level to prevent any hack attempts, but if the unthinkable happens, we retain backups of your site and will restore your site to the latest working version for free. And if it offers some consolation, we've never had a website under our care get hacked so far.

Will your SEO optimization get us on the first page of Google search results?

Most probably not, except for very specific keywords like your brand/company name. SEO is long-term work that stretches beyond your website. What we do is ensure that your site is search-engine friendly and that all the pages get properly indexed by them.

How fast will my site be?

It depends on the current state of your website, but usually we can cut page load time in half or more. We'll also put in place mechanism to prevent new content and pages added to the site from slowing down your page load time. We guarantee that you'll get at least B scores on Google PageSpeed and YSlow measurements. Find out you site's current performance metrics at GTmetrix.

Do you offer 24/7 technical support?

At this time, we do not. We're available on business hours between Monday through Friday for regular support, and on weekends only for emergencies like prolonged website downtime, which very rarely happens.

We strive to resolve issues within 24 hours of receiving your request. Occasionally it may take a bit longer for a long list of edits or more complex changes.

Do you support WordPress Multisite?

Yes we do. We'll need more information about your configurations so we can understand how to best provide support for it.

Multisites will likely require more support effort than single sites, so we'll likely recommend that you supplement your maintenance plan with a recurring Dev Hours block subscription.

Do you support e-commerce sites?

Yes. We support all WordPress e-commerce platforms, but we specialize in WooCommerce, which is very likely what you’re using.

E-commerce sites will likely require more support and/or development effort than regular sites, so we'll likely recommend that you supplement your maintenance plan with a recurring Dev Hours block subscription, or purchase Dev Hours blocks needed per your short-term project's requirements.

Do you support membership sites?

Yes we do. However, membership sites will likely require more support and/or development effort than regular sites, so we'll likely recommend that you supplement your maintenance plan with a recurring Dev Hours block subscription, or purchase Dev Hours blocks needed per your short-term project's requirements.

Do you offer custom development?

Yes we do. Custom development is facilitated by one or multiple purchases of Dev Hours, depending on the requirements of the project.

You also have the option to do a fixed-price project after giving a thorough explanation of your requirements and deadline. A fixed-price project begins at your request and after a down payment is made in the form of a Dev Hours block purchase comparable with the size of your project.

Can I request changes to my website?

Yes, on the Rock Steady plan. You can use the allocated 1 Dev Hour per month to request changes to the content on your site, tweak the design of site elements, and even enhance existing features or add new ones.

If your request requires more than 1 Dev Hour during the month, you'll either need to purchase a Dev Hours block to get the job done, or upgrade to the yearly Rock Steady plan to be able to use the allocated 12 Dev Hours in the year upfront.

I'm on Rock Steady. What can I use my Dev Hour(s) for?

Any content modification, design changes or development work you need. Each support request will take up 15 minute increments from your Dev Hours.

Can the Dev Hours on the Rock Steady yearly plan be used at once?

In a way, yes. You can use the 12 Dev Hours per year up front. However, the 1 Dev Hour per month, if unused, will not roll over and accummulate into the following months.

This means that if you have a rather complex development requirements with a tight deadline, you don't need to purchase additional Dev Hours as long as it is something that can be done within 12 hours. As a 'bonus', your site is hosted and maintained for the upcoming year.

However, if you do want to make small changes to the site over time, you can simply use the allocated 1 Dev Hour per month and purchase additional Dev Hours as needed.

How many support requests can I submit each month?

For Safety First and Peace of Mind plans, we will only follow up support request related to your plan. If you need help with making content, design or feature modifications, you will need to be on the Rock Steady plan. If your request is above your monthly 1 Dev Hour limit, we will ask you to purchase additional Dev Hours.

Can I purchase maintenance plan for more than 1 site?

Yes you can.

Am I locked into a contract?

No. We believe in earning your business month after month, and you can cancel your service with us at any time.

How do I upgrade or downgrade my maintenance plan?

Which payment methods do you accept?

We accept PayPal, Mastercard and Visa credit/debit cards, and American Express, Discover, JCB, Diner's Club and EnRoute credit cards. After signup, you are auto-charged each month on a recurring basis until you decide to cancel your plan.

What's your refund policy?

Web hosting and maintenance is a long-term engagement and we are confident in the quality of our service. If you have doubts, you can start with a monthly plan, which you can cancel any time. In short, we currently do not offer refunds.

Do you work with digital agencies?

Yes we do. We're happy to make sure agencies customers are taken care of once their new project has launched. Get in touch if you're from an agency and would like to partner with us. Partners will get special pricing.

Do you offer discounts?

Yes! We offer 2 months off for yearly subscriptions and 25% discount for non-profit organizations and projects on the monthly and yearly plans.

If your non-profit organization/project has no paid staff, you may even qualify for a free maintenance plan, including hosting, as well as probono Dev Hours.
